Greetings from Louisiana! Just wanted to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas. We are currently at T's parents in Benton, LA. Tomorrow I'm headed back to Baton Rouge and he's returning back to Oklahoma. Someone around here has to earn some money!
I'll update with pictures as soon as possible. I did get the big time camera in this past Friday and have been taking pictures all over the place. Some of them are even good!

My Personality DNA
Apparently, I'm artistic! I knew I was "crafty" but I had no idea I was artistic.

Still Cold, No Snow
So much for the snow storm that we were supposed to have this weekend. I'm not complaining, but come on! The weather guys have been predicting a foot of snow all week now. A FOOT! I saw a few flurries earlier today but there isn't anything on the ground. So much for accuracy about that.
It's Saturday and I should be cleaning the house. I have a few things working against me other than my own personal loathing of cleaning. First, I've been sick. I've had some flu like issues for the last couple of days. I'm better today; I just tire easily. Second, we were without power for 2 days so the house is kind of a mess. Not that we haven't had it the other 5 days in the week, but well, we aren't that good at the house cleaning. So I'm battling more than just our normal weekly mess to deal with.
I think I need to take a nap... yeah, that will help clean the house and finish our Christmas gifts!

The Aftermath

The Sequel in Pictures
I don't think there is a treetop left in Oklahoma. They have all snapped off due to the weight of the ice. Here are just a few of the pictures that I took yesterday. I'm sure I'll take some more today or tomorrow. The rest of the set can be seen on this site.
Icicle lights with icicles on them.
Beautiful oak tree across the street from our house in the empty lot. Most of this tree has now fallen to the ground under the weight of the ice.
This is the grass. As you can see, each blade of grass is encased in it's own tube of ice. It's not just a solid sheet that comes from sleet.
Our street sign. I'm not sure if you can tell, but the entire stop sign is covered in a case of ice. If you click on the picture, you can see the larger version and notice the texture of the ice on it.
Baby, it's cold outside!
ICE STORM 2007 - THE SEQUEL
I'm sure you're wondering why I've said "the sequel". Well, back in January the eastern half of the state was hit with an ice storm. We had bath weather... lots of sleet and ice, but not the freezing rain that the eastern half of the state got. So that was dubbed "Ice Storm 2007" by the local media, and apparently, they've forgotten that they've already used the phrase because the same title is being used again now.
So this is the sequel, as far as I'm concerned. Anyway, the ice is beautiful but it's unbelievable how destructive. Having never been through an ice storm, I wasn't sure what to expect. But wow! I'm going to be adding pictures later this afternoon.
Stay warm!!

A Not Sure What To Do With My Saturday Post
So it's the first Saturday in many months without college football. I'm kind of at a loss!! Don't get me wrong - there is plenty of stuff for me to do. I am just sitting here kind of at a loss and lacking a little motivation. I also cut off all my hair and changed the color. So while I still feel like myself, my dogs and my husband both look at me like I'm someone else. I guess I'm just a little off-kilter today.
Oh what? You wanted a picture of my new hair? Not today, my friend. Not today!

Bah Humbug!
Look what my husband Scrooge did on his day off! I'm very impressed. If you see a tiny gap, it's because that's where two strands of lights meet. Not bad for his first time with lights. And no, we don't have the lights on a super charger. I held the shutter open on the camera to saturate the light. Fancy, huh? Just imagine what I can do with the high-tech camera I'm getting for Christmas!!

whole lotta nothin'
What did I do this weekend? Please see the title above.... Yesterday was spent watching football and knitting. Christmas is getting closer, so the knitting is required. These things don't make themselves. Today, we went into OKC to buy and extension ladder to hang our outdoor Christmas lights. We ate lunch and I proceeded to get very sick.
So I came back and took a nap and well, then the rest of the night went downhill from there. So not a whole lot accomplished, other than some great knitting progress.
Sorry there isn't more to say. Although LSU being in the national title game is exciting, as far as my weekend goes, not much to it!
