He loved our dirty clothes, especially towels, so we wrapped him up one night and he slept like this. We laughed when we covered him but he was so content that night.
He went peacefully in his sleep last night. Thanks to everyone for their kind words, thoughts and prayers. They mean the world to us.

Oh sweetie, I am sooooo sorry!!! :( Poor Rufus, I'm glad he went peacefully but sad that he's gone.

Rufus was one of a kind. Nicole, you gave Rufus a king's life. He went from a country dog to a "city slicker" living the good life. You added many, many years to his life. Who can forget the exercise he and Copper gave me when y'all would come home? Remember how I'd run around the house with them chasing me, and then I'd turn on them, and they would start running from me? Then I would have to mop for an hour because of the buckets of drool (or slobber, as your dad would say) from Rufus! I'm SOOOO going to miss the "Old Man". I loved him, too!
