LSU Baseball is on a roll. An 18 game roll to be exact. So word on the street is that LSU is getting a Regional. For the final season at Alex Box Stadium, it seems very apropos. Talking to my to my sister a couple of weeks ago, she said "Man! I'd hate to miss the last Regional at The Box!"
Background: We spent many consecutive years tailgating and enjoying the entire weekend of LSU Baseball that is the NCAA Regional tournament through the years. We tailgated with family friends at the 4th large oak tree to the south of the stadium! However, this all ended when LSU Baseball was no longer the juggernaut it had been and quit making post-season play. LSU will open next season at it's new state of the art baseball stadium across the street and up the road a bit.
So a couple of days later she finds me online at work and sends me an instant message. "I've got enough SkyMiles and they'll expire before I can use them for anything else. Navarre and I are going to be in Baton Rouge. Are you?" My answer? "Yes, I'll be there!"
When I got home that night, I was talking to T about it and he said "well, I want to go!" So here we are several weeks later with two plane tickets. We are flying into New Orleans next Thursday night. We won't be in Baton Rouge until around midnight (provided our flights are on time). But that will give us full days on Friday and Saturday. We head back to Oklahoma on Sunday, just in time for work on Monday.
So if you are in the area, please find us with the large group of people, a 10 month old baby and possibly a large dog that could be mistaken for a small horse at the 4th large oak tree south of The Box.
