A different perspective

Last night in the trauma that I'll call a drive home, I heard the best thing on the radio that I've heard in 2 years of listening to storm coverage. It's 5:15 and the height of the rush hour commute. All heck is breaking loose at the TV station and you can hear that on the radio. The chief weather dude keeps telling people to stay at work and get off the road, etc. You can hear the doomsday approaching in his voice.

Just then, the second weather dude says in a very calm voice, "I know there are a lot of kids at home waiting on mom and dad and you don't need to be afraid. We've been through this a couple of times this year already. You just need to get to your lowest level and center room. Turn the TV real loud so you can hear us and we'll be with you through it. We just want to be cautious. There isn't a reason to be scared."

So the chief weather dude comes back on after apparently regaining control of himself and taking to heart what the other guy said. I know it helped calm me and I'm an adult (by age anyway). I must say, that statement made me think a little better of the television show interrupting folks.
