I am posting today from the comfort of my sofa. The OKC metro area is under an ice warning and since our parking lot was basically an ice rink, we got to go home. So far the ice has been relatively light, but they did predict that some people would lose power. We've got the generator ready to go and T says that I keep it so cold in here, we won't notice a difference if the power goes out. He's a regular comedian.
Before things got too bad today, I did have a doctor's appointment. Apparently everything is perfect and I'm a textbook pregnancy so far. Given my history of not fitting into a textbook medical definition of any kind, I was quite surprised but happy to hear it.
The baby's uncooperative streak continues. It took about 10 minutes to get a consistent heartbeat reading. Every time the doctor would put the Doppler somewhere, the baby would kick it and flip her body around so we couldn't get a reading. So once we finally got her pinned into my bladder and she couldn't move as much, we got a good strong heartbeat. It just took us a while. She's a feisty little one.
